Section 8.9 of the CCR's state that Mailboxes and address design shall be identical, shall be approved by Declarant and installed by builders. Any mailbox damaged will be repaired or replaced as necessary by and at the expense of the individual Owner with the same style of mailbox as originally installed.
Our Mailbox Base, Post, Finial and Number Plate are part of the "Contemporary" mailbox system manufactured by Imperial Mailbox Systems (www.imperialmailboxsystems.com). Imperial model numbers follow this scheme: <Post>-<Base><Number Plate><Mailbox Style><Finial>, ours is C2-5205. Since our mailbox is not provided by Imperial, the 0 indicates that no mailbox will be supplied. Many neighbors have worked locally with one of the contractors below to have their mailboxes repaired/replaced.

There are several online retailers that sell individual replacement parts. BudgetMailboxes.com seems to be the most competitively priced option, they offer free shipping and an entire mailbox setup is less than $300.
The most common failure point seems to be the decorative shelf that the mailbox mounts to. This shelf is secured to the post by two screws, either the screws become loose or are completely sheared off. You may purchase a new post/shelf or take it to a welding shop/metal fabricator to have it repaired. Sometimes the repair could involve drilling/tapping new holes in the post so that the shelf can be reattached.
Please note that the HOA does not endorse or mandate a specific contractor, only that the design of the mailboxes must be consistent with the below specifications.
Letters/Numbers:
The numbers are 2" Brass self-adhesive numbers. Special Lite Products manufactures these if you prefer to search online for a replacement. However, both BusyBee and Mail Boxes by Design carry them.
Number Plate
The number plate mounts to the top of the mailbox using stainless steel nuts and bolts that are painted black to match the rest of the mailbox. This is "Style #2" in the "Contemporary" line of Imperial Mailbox Systems.
Mailbox:
The box is considered "medium" size and must be Black with a Red metal flag and a Black metal handle on the door. Many in the neighborhood are manufactured by Gibraltar and can be purchased at any home improvement store for $20-$30.
Finial:
The decorative topper that connects to the top of the post. This piece slides over the top of the post and is fastened with set screws. This is considered "Style 5" in the "Contemporary" line of Imperial Mailbox Systems.
Post:
This section attaches to the base a few feet above the ground using set screws. This piece includes the decorative metal shelf that the mailbox mounts to. A 1" thick piece of wood is fastened to the shelf. The mailbox is then fastened to the piece of wood using screws on the left and right sides of the bottom of the mailbox. This is "Style C2" in the "Contemporary" line of Imperial Mailbox Systems.
Base:
This section is often attached to a pier that is cemented into the ground, much like a fence post. This is "Style C2" in the "Contemporary" line of Imperial Mailbox Systems.
